Thomas Jefferson (1743-1826) wished to be remembered especially for three of his many contributions to the new United States: the drafting of the 1776 Declaration of Independence, the Virginia Statute of Religious Freedom, and the founding of the University of Virginia. We will visit the old Victorian quarter and an Amish community, north of the city. He seems to pick on Tom just a little more than everyone else.
